What’s this all about?

I’m not easily put into a box. I can’t pigeon-holed and told that I am any one thing.

I act, I write, I like to experiment with my camera, sometimes I paint, I make films, I’ve created and hosted fairly successful podcast (and my start a new one), and I have some wild experiences and the thoughts and ideas that come from them to express and share. Sometimes I just make a badass beef stew. I just have a need to make things and put them out there and share them, even if it’s ultimately just for me.

In March of 2020, just about a week before the COVID virus really hit the United States hard and we went into quarantine, my longstanding Facebook and Instagram accounts were simultaneously hacked and completely deleted. I had a lot invested in them… fan pages, pages for my podcast, film pages, a fairly decent following, etc. I felt like I had somewhat of a voice, and I enjoyed using it to express myself. In one night, it was all taken away. This turned out to be a huge blessing in disguise, which I will describe and write about here, but that’s for another time. I say this though, because I recognized that my voice can be silenced if I depended on these avenues. I don’t own those platforms and I have no control over my own things on them, but I do own this, and I have the freedom to do whatever the f*ck I want with it. It’s not that I have any plans of using this in any really controversial way, but I like that idea and that feeling of freedom and ownership a lot.

The a big reason why I decided to create this blog is that I felt like I needed to consolidate all of things that I do and want to share into one place.

I wanted one place to post my photography, photo journals of my sometimes crazy life and travels, films that I’ve made, whether I’ve acted in them or directed them, or both. I wanted a place to post the random poem that I was struck to write on some rainy, cheap wine-soaked night, and I wanted a place to announce news about what I was doing, and what to look out for should there be anything to share.

This in a nutshell, this what this is all about.

I’m happy to have you here, and I would be glad to have you follow along with me and keep in touch.

It’ll be a good time.

Best,

Cam
